One Day with Footnote - Workshop

One Day with Footnote is a full day dance workshop tailored for youth and young dancers aged 15-20. This event promises participants an immersive experience into the world of contemporary dance, offering a unique opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals.

Experience Creativity and Energy: Participants can expect to be swept up in the boundless creativity and infectious energy of the Footnote company dancers. Through a series of dynamic workshops, attendees will explore current creative practices and performance techniques that are shaping the landscape of contemporary dance today. From innovative choreography to expressive movement, this workshop is designed to inspire and challenge young dancers of all levels.

Teacher Workshop: Moreover, there will be a dedicated workshop tailored specifically for teachers. Suitable for all contemporary dance teachers, spend 2 hours with our Artistic Director exploring current contemporary dance technique and creative practice. The teacher workshop aims to empower educators with the tools and knowledge to support their students' growth in the realm of contemporary dance. Teachers also have the opportunity to observe workshops throughout the day.

Floorwork & Contemporary Improvisation

  • Discover new pathways to smooth out your floor work and dive into the exciting world of improvisation. 

11.30am-12.30pm

Repertoire

  • Learn current company repertoire and experience the performative and physical range of Footnote shows

1.15pm-2.15pm

Performance Practice

  • Fine tune your performance skills and learn how to connect with the audience

2.30pm-3.30pm 

Choreography

  • Explore different creative tasks and gain confidence when creating new movement

5.30pm-7.30pm

Teacher Professional Development

  • Suitable for all contemporary dance teachers, spend 2 hours with our Artistic Director exploring current contemporary dance technique and creative practice.
