The ABCD workshop is oriented toward intense embodiment & speculative imagination in performance. What if the dancer becomes-thing & the studio is all atmosphere (not a container).
Part 1
We will try to lose face & let bodies turn rogue. There are several techniques & vectors of movement that we can explore such as: impact, image-work, lamby jumps, weak force.
Part 2
In the later sessions we will engage dirty technologies & choreographic strategies of encounter. There will be group pieces (trios, quintets) constructed out of thick air.
Everyone is warmly encouraged to bring performance materials and/or useful belongings. These could include – but are not limited to – everyday objects, personal devices & cherished possessions:
mobile phones, iPods, music, portable speakers, laptops, costumes, clothing, shoes, cultural artifacts, objects, survival blankets, cardboard, body adornment, plants, food, tāonga, torches, head pieces, pop-up tents, yoga mats, instruments, knee pads, disposable polaroids

Most recently Jeremy performed for Muscle Mouth in the world premiere of As It Stands choreographed by Ross McCormack for the 2019 Auckland Arts Festival. Jeremy has also created commissioned works for Footnote New Zealand Dance and an independent solo show know one in the 2018 Wellington Fringe Festival.
Morning Class: Awareness
This is a rich, full bodied class where we will explore modes of awareness through expansive choreographic phrases, progressions and improvisational tasks. Throughout the week we will consider three modes: awareness of body, awareness of space and awareness of others while learning and performing extensive movement phrases.
