Best wishes from FootnoteNZ
As the year ends we wish you a safe and dancing holiday and a wonderful 2014.
Choreolab is ready to roll and ChoreoCo will be an exciting new venture for us. A new core company will be in place for the new year and the new FootnoteNZ and we look forward to new works and the challenges of a great artistic programme.
Auditions held on December 2nd saw an exceptional line up of talent and thank you to all those who danced their hearts out that day. Thank you to Anita Hunziker, Olivia McGregor and Alice McCann who led the classes and to our new Artistic Advisory Panel – Raewyn Whyte, Malia Johnston and Deirdre Tarrant – who had the very difficult challenge of decision making for the future.
We are thrilled to tell you that the successful submissions of new work were from; Maria Dabrowska and Melanie Hamilton (N.Z.), Corey Baker (U.K.), Alexa Wilson (Berlin), Olive Bieringa (U.S.A), Eric Languet (Reunion Islands), with developing ideas to go into discussion from Lyne Pringle, Bill Nelson, and Claire O’Neil. So innovation and challenges will abound! Straight Laced (Craig Bary) will be onstage danced by ChoreoCo at BATS Theatre at the New Zealand Fringe Festival in Wellington March 2-8 and COLT ( Foster-Sproull) will be seen at the Dunedin Fringe Festival March 21/22.
