ChoreoCo 2017: The Dark Light

2017

A lost species tries to remember itself. An in-between place is translated to us on screen. A realisation, a flicker in the shadows.

The Dark Light by Alexa Wilson presents us with a unique world. In this dimly lit cave, connections are fragmented and lost. Six bodies delve into the dark, struggling to remember who they are. As they search, their world begins to shift, deepening into confusion, and emerging with a new understanding that is brought to light. A bold dance work made in just three weeks; The Dark Light is a thoughtful, humorous, provocative choreography that holds true to the experimental spirit of the Fringe Festival and Footnote New Zealand Dance.
