NOW 2016
Heavy crowns. Happy grin. A mask that asks: Revolution?
NOW 2016 by Footnote New Zealand Dance presents new original work by the brightest choreographers. Same time, same place. Right NOW. This annual performance season is all about supporting the ideas of emerging dance-makers - giving them a platform to experiment and thrive.
NOW 2016 is choreographed by women. Julia Harvie (Christchurch), Sarah Knox (Auckland), Lucy Marinkovich (Wellington) and Jessie McCall (Auckland) have created a show that will get under
your skin whether you want to laugh, rebel, or scratch your head in wonder.
Building on the success of NOW 2015, which enjoyed acclaim from reviewers and audiences alike, the 2016 tour uses movement and humour to explore themes of idolisation, female-centric collectives, the grotesque and acts of protest.
