Movement Biography: Adam Naughton

For the third video in our Movement Biography series, in which we explore the worlds of our company members, we’re profiling Adam Naughton. Adam started as an intern for Footnote in 2015 for Flip, Pivot, Boom by Malia Johnston and in 2017 became a full-time company dancer. As well as being an intelligent and precise mover/performer he’s also a talented musician! Read our quick-fire interview with Adam below and watch his video to learn more about the man himself.

What is your first dance memory?
I remember dancing around the living room to some choral music my dad was playing.

What songs do you currently have on repeat?
Disco Tits by Tove Lo and Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now by The Smiths

What do you think you’d be doing if you weren’t a dancer?
Drumming in a funk/jazz band.

What is your favourite place outside of New Zealand?
Noosa in Aussie

What do you like to do in your spare time outside of work?
Watch movies, walk lots, eat good food, drink craft beer and read.

If you could have a super-power what would it be?

To be able to physically pass through any barrier or object.
