Footnote New Zealand Dance: Choreographers Announced for NOW 2015
Footnote New Zealand Dance is delighted to announce the four choreographers who will be creating short new works for our NOW 2015 season.
Following a selection process, submissions by Anna Bate, Natalie Maria Clark, Jared Hemopo, and returning company member Katharina Waldner were chosen from a pool of strong applications: they will join Footnote in Wellington during May and June to develop brand new original works that will be toured nationally in July. With dates and venues confirmed soon, watch this space for more details.
Footnote’s three-person Artistic Advisory Panel was encouraged by the quality of submissions in this first formal application process for the NOW Season. NOW, an acronym for New Original Work, was introduced in 2014 to replace Footnote’s much-loved Made in New Zealand programme. It will provide an annual platform for the best upcoming and returning choreographers in Aotearoa.
