Associate Board Member Position 2023

The Footnote Dance Trust Board, which governs Footnote New Zealand Dance, is seeking candidates for an Associate Board member position. As a Charitable Trust, this position is on a voluntary basis.

The purpose of the Associate Board member position is for Footnote to contribute to building succession capability in Aotearoa arts governance. This role will allow the associate to gain valuable insights and practical experience in the functions of an arts board and for the board to support them on their leadership journey. The associate will be involved with every aspect of the Footnote Dance Trust Board, consistent with its constitution and policies. The associate will become a non-voting member of the board of trustees. 

Key attributes for the role:

  • To work well with people individually and in a group by being considerate, trustworthy and collaborative.

  • Ability to listen with understanding within group and individual discussions.

  • To think analytically and creatively depending on the situation.

  • Be keenly interested in improving your business and work experience to assist Footnote to develop and support members of the dance community.

  • To show the desire and/or ability to grow your leadership in the Wellington and NZ arts community and particularly the dance community.

  • The ability to inspire others through your passion and goodwill for dance.

  • Footnote welcomes applications from young, culturally diverse candidates active in the dance industry.
